Focusing on content that engages the reader and the Internet Search Engines

My work ethic / philosophy :

I believe in the development ethic - sustained, progressive business that builds for the future. I am serious about social responsibility. In other words, I will deliver your work on time and to the absolute best of my ability because I believe that work is not just about my paycheck, but about building for the future. Flash in the pan quick money is not my style. Consistency, relationship and service (in the true sense of the word) is. Service means I serve. I hope to give you work that you can trust, and rely on. Not because that's the right thing to say, but because I honestly believe that's the way I should live.

What is Web Copy and SEO?

Web copy - or, Copywriting for the Web, involves many of the same principles involved with standard Copywriting (ie, writing words that will appeal to the reader, and communicate your message) but it also incorporates writing content that works for the web format (accessibility) and for search engines (such as Google and Yahoo!)

Search Engine Optimization

SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is the name given to creating content for your website that the search engine will pick up easily. But it also needs to be written in a way that the search engine will give your site a better ranking than other sites.

This means that the content needs to contain the right keywords (the keywords someone would use when using the search engine) but the content also needs to be both relevant and exciting for the reader / user of your website

So Both Content AND Keywords Are Important

So my job is to do far more than just layer your web articles / website with keywords. I have to also ensure your web content is impressive, engaging, informative and relevant for the reader. In a nut-shell, I create content that satisfies both the search engines (robots) and the real person who goes to your website. After all, it's one thing getting your site to the top of a Google / Yahoo! search, but unless the content of your website doesn't result in business for you, what's the use of being at the top of Google? There's no use in that.

Likewise, though, your website can have the best content the web has to offer; but unless people can find it easily, it's not going to be much use to you either.
