Spirituality : Kingdom : Relationship
Some
people might think
it a little wierd that I've got a spirituality section on the same
website as business and philosophy. But spirituality is as natural and
normal as going to work every day. It's as natural as eating, thinking
or relating with friends and family.
And spirituality is about relationship.
Relationship with God, and then with others. Jesus made this clear, that when he was asked what the 'most important commandment' was' he replied 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and soul, and love your neighbour as yourself.' (Somewhat paraphrased.) I think that what Jesus was saying is that life is about relationship and love. I certainly don't mean the cushy kind of love we all often associate that word with. I mean a love that's about engaging others.
This is what the point of business is for me - to engage the problems of poverty and injustice in this world. So, I don't mind mixing it all together on one website. Not only do we love and engage others in this way, but we also love others by engaging thought and belief. We build tomorrow on todays ideas, on todays philosophy. We love by challenging the way we think, the way others think, and engaging this thing called Truth together.
Finally, but firstly, we love God, who loves us first and invites us to share in His Joy. This is the heart of Christianity - relationship, friendship with God. Then, Kingdom - loving others the way God loves us; changing the world. Christianity isn't about going to church and doing ceremonies, or about showing the world that God blesses us with nice cars. Forget about that - Jesus is more. If you're looking for authentic, real redemption with joy, freedom and love- believe that Jesus Christ is Lord, and died for you, and you will be saved. Nothing else to it. Pray to him, talk to him, and keep the relationship going. He'll tell you what to do next. Oh, and get a New Testament Bible. It's the best read that's out there.
